What is it?
A classic lunge movement with the addition of some weights to challenge a variety of muscles.
What does it do?
Dumbbell lunges are a great exercise which strengthen the muscles in the bum, thighs and arms!
How to do it?
Stand upright holding two dumbbells in your hands by your sides. Step forward with your right leg and lower your upper body down into the lunge position while keeping your torso upright and maintaining your balance. Try not to allow your knee to go forward beyond your toes as you come down, as this will put undue stress on the knee.
Using mainly the heel of your foot, push up and go back to the starting position. Repeat this movement for the as many times as you can with good form, alternating with the left leg.
